Aldwyn Primary School Launch The Learning Zone

Aldwyn Primary school are pleased to announce the launch of a major website aimed at both teachers and children of primary school age.

The site has been designed to showcase the work by children at the school and the clever way we are incorporating topic work and digital skills into the same lesson.

Please take a look at the “Our Work” pages and view each lesson. Click the drop-down boxes labelled “Lesson Focus” and “Digital Skills & ICT Focus”. In one lesson two subjects were covered. The primary focus is their topic work, but by stealth, we cover a whole range of important digital skills.

Why are Digital Skills Important.

  • Digital skills are important to children because they help them learn how to use technology effectively. They can be used to access information, communicate with others, and complete tasks.
  • Children who have digital skills tend to be better at learning and retaining knowledge than those without these skills. This is especially true for young people, who need to develop their digital skills before they enter higher school.
  • Communication is important to children because they can express themselves through written and verbal communication. They can share ideas, opinions, and feelings with others. They can also collaborate with others to create something together.

If you are a school in Tameside, Stockport or the Greater Manchester area and want  more information do not hesitate to contact the digital skills team at Aldwyn Primary School.
